Since the pair first met in California in 1998, Brandon and Heather have been chasing dreams and adventures wherever life has taken them. In the summer of 2000, an idea to cycle the length of the Continental Divide, then paddle the length of the Sea of Cortez, found the two headed off for their first major expedition: 'C2C--Canada to Cabo'. Six Months and 4300 miles later, the pair stood on the beach in Cabo San Lucas and claimed success!
Shortly afterward, they began planning their next great adventure...
Now, eight years later, alternating between seasons of racing and exploration, the two have added such experiences to their collective portfolio as The Eco Challenge, overall victories and course records at the Yukon River Quest and the WaterTribe Lake Michigan Challenge, the successful completion of their expedition, 'Around Baikal 2003'--A Quest to Sea Kayak Around the Earth's Largest Lake.
Under the name Kayak For Care, Brandon and Heather raised nearly $20,000 for the Whatcom Hospice Foundation in the Kayak For Care 24-Hour Flatwater World Record Attempt project.
Whether they are piecing together the puzzles of the next race or expedition, writing feature, how-to, or review articles for a number of different print and online magazines, giving a multi-media presentation, or are out training to continually develop their outdoor adventure skills and fitness, Brandon and Heather strive inspire others and live by the motto:
